San Diego, California

Sitting in the southwest corner of the state, San Diego is where California began, originally claimed in the name of Spain by Portuguese explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. With an average annual temperature of just over 70 degrees, everyday is a good day for a trip to the beach or a farmer’s market. The beaches are everywhere and you are likely to find a market somewhere just about any day of the week—and year-round, no less. The city’s restaurants offer everything from casual takeout to four-star dining, with the fish taco as the local favorite. You haven’t truly experienced eating in San Diego if you haven’t enjoyed one of their deep fried, battered fish wrapped in a corn tortilla with cabbage and sauce.

Sun-Dried Tomato Dip

Reviewed on Oct. 14, 2008 by RLOGAN01
should change the name to garlic basil spread. I sure couldn't taste the tomato and the basil dominated and it was too thick to be called dip. even using heavy duty crackers. I will not be wasting my time and money on this recipe again.

Gourmet Caramel Apples

Reviewed on Oct. 14, 2008 by MySweetCreations
Do skip dipping the apples into boiling water, the caramel may not hold with wax on the apple. I am the melting and dipping into chocolate pro, and you do not need shortening. Use a bag of milk chocolate chips and simply melt those. I personally love melting a few squares of Bakers white chocolate and adding a tablespoon or so of peanut butter to that and drizzling all over. HIGHLY Recommended recipe, I made these 3 times within the last few days.
